3 siblings out running errand killed in rollover crash on city’s Northeast Side, relatives say

SAN ANTONIO – Three people, including a child, are dead following a rollover crash on the city’s Northeast Side late Sunday night, according to San Antonio police.

The crash happened around 10:20 p.m. on Thousand Oaks Drive, not far from Alamo Blanco Street and Perrin Beitel Road.

According to police, a red sedan was crossing Thousand Oaks when it was T-boned by a silver sport utility vehicle. That’s when, police say, the sedan rolled into a utility pole and the wire crashed down into the hood of a pickup truck traveling in an eastbound lane.

Police said firefighters attempted to rescue the three people, including a child from the sedan, but they all were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was taken by ambulance to an area hospital as a precaution. A passenger inside the SUV was not injured, police said.

SAPD did say exactly why the crash occurred. The names of people killed have not been released, pending notification to next of kin.

The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all responded to the call.

At this time, it is unclear if any charges will be filed. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
