Motorcyclist killed after colliding with truck on SE Side identified

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a motorcyclist who was killed after colliding with a truck on the Southeast Side as 58-year-old Lewis Earl Fender.

At approximately 9 p.m. Monday, BCSO deputies responded to a fatal crash between a truck and motorcycle near Loop 1604 and Highway 181. BCSO shut down both the northbound and southbound lanes of the roadway.

According to authorities, Fender was thrown from the bike to the ground in the crash, leaving him with major injuries.

Fender was transported to an area hospital, where he later died.

The cause of the crash has not been determined.
