Stormy Daniels’ Husband Says They Will ‘Probably Leave the Country’ If Trump Gets Acquitted

In political discussions these days, one can scarcely swing a metaphorical dead cat without hitting some celebrity or other tiresome public figure threatening to leave the country if one person or another is elected, or if they are disappointed by some other event. In the latest instance of such, Stormy Daniels’ husband Barrett Blade (who is, remarkably, another former porn star) says the couple will “probably leave the country” if Donald Trump is acquitted in his ongoing, New York hush money trial.

Yeah, right.

Stormy Daniels’ husband, fellow adult film star Barrett Blade, said the couple will likely move out of the U.S. if former President Donald Trump is found not guilty in the landmark NY v. Trump case.

“If Trump is found not guilty… I don’t think it gets better for her, you know? I think if it’s not guilty, we got to decide what to do. Good chance we’ll probably vacate this country,” Blade said Tuesday on CNN.

Predictions are hard to make, especially about the future, but I’ll venture one here: They won’t leave. They never do.

Celebrities who said they would leave, or at least think about leaving (thus giving themselves some wiggle room) if President Trump won the election in 2016 – which he did – include such intellectual heavyweights (yes, this is sarcasm) as Snoop Dogg, Whoopi Goldberg, Miley Cyrus, Amy Schumer, Cher and Lena Dunham, among others. In 2020, they were joined by Bruce Springsteen, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend (whoever they are), and a few others, and while Trump ended up vacating the White House in January of 2021, it’s a certainty that these people would not have left the country, either. They never do.

Barret Blade, in the CNN interview, went on:

“If he is found guilty, then she’s still going to have to deal with all the hate,” Blade said during an interview with Erin Burnett, noting Trump supporters would insist “she’s the reason” why he was convicted.

To which I would say, tough noogies. You people are both public figures now, and a certain thickness of skin is required in that game. But I would also tell them that they need to stop petulantly whining that they’ll take their marbles and, well, leave home if their desired outcome doesn’t obtain. You’re not fooling anyone. Everyone who has watched politics, elections, and the fallout of them, and high-profile legal cases, has drawn similar threats before and has seen that almost none of the threateners ever follow through.

None of these people are serious about leaving the country. In fact, few of them are serious people at all, and that includes Stormy Daniels and her husband. They have no intention of leaving the country, for any reason. They’re just taking a dump, and everyone with enough sense to pound sand knows it.

On the off chance that the former porn star team of Blade and Daniels are serious, though, I’d be willing to kick in a sawbuck for a one-way ticket to the destination of their choice, as long as it involves them never coming back.
