Texas A&M lands transfer commitment from former East Carolina TE Shane Calhoun

   

Former East Carolina tight end Shane Calhoun will transfer to play at Texas A&M in 2024, he announced Monday via X. He will have one season of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer.

Calhoun totaled 63 catches for 594 yards and six touchdowns across the past four seasons with the Pirates. He now joins an Aggies tight end room that includes Donovan Green , Garrett Miller and Tre Watson.

As a recruit, Calhoun was a three-star prospect coming out of Creekside High School in St. Augustine, Florida. He ranked as the No. 1,210 overall player and No. 57 tight end in the 2020 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
