Man shot in head after altercation at South Side Whataburger, SAPD says
SAN ANTONIO – A man is hospitalized in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head after an altercation at a Whataburger ended in gunfire, according to San Antonio police.
SAPD responded to the shooting around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday near Poteet Jourdanton Freeway and SW Loop 410.
Police said a man in his 30s was shot in the head while attempting to drive away from the altercation at the restaurant. His pick-up truck was also hit by gunfire.
Investigators believe the man passed out while driving away, jumped over the highway onto oncoming traffic, and crashed the truck at SW Loop 410 and Somerset Road.
The man is reported to be undergoing surgery.
